Ashanti Says She And Irv Gotti Were Never Lovers In Resurfaced Recording

There’s a video circulating across social media, showing Ashanti speaking on her past relationship with record executive Irv Gotti. In the recording, Ashanti flat out denies any romantic involvement with Irv.

The recording took place nearly a decade ago, before Irv spilled the beans, and told the world that the two were dating.

So at the time that Ashanti made the statements, she was not contradicting Irv – she may just have been telling a little white lie trying to reduce her body count which all women are entitled to do. Listen to the recording:

The audio is currently being peddled as “new” across social media, in an attempt to stir up more drama with the extremely chatty Irv Gotti.

We previously shared that Ashanti is furious at the recent interviews that her former manager Irv Gotti is giving. During the controversial Drink Champs episode, Irv Gotti revealed that Ashanti recorded her 2002 hit single “Happy” after they finished having sex.

The insider claims that their relationship was more of a fling, than anything serious. She also reportedly said that their fling was “very brief.” “When you listen to Irv talk, he’s trying to make it out like they were in love and in a full blown relationship. That is cap,” Ashanti’s friend told us.

The friend, who called Irv “pathetic” for making the comments, believes that he is just using Ashanti’s name – and bringing up old drama for “clout.”
