Terrell Smith Shot & Killed On Live By One Of His Facebook Followers After Joking About A Local Fight

A Michigan Facebook celebrity is dead after one of his followers shot and killed him while he was on Facebook live.

Terrell Smith of Ypsilanti, MI was known in his city for going on Facebook Live for his show “Rell’s Corner” where he would talk noise with his followers about the drama in the city.

Though he joked and had fun, some people didn’t find his commentary funny. According to his mother, Terrell was on live recently talking about a fight that happened in the city. Apparently, this didn’t sit well with some people, so they showed up to his house and shot and killed him during a live session, June 28.

“Terrell was a comedian. He disrespected people and they got mad. Words can’t kill you..a gun can,” his mother, Genniece Smith, said. “My son put up a video of her son getting knocked out,” she said. “A lot of people didn’t like Terrell- so what! People cannot kill people for talking.”

According to investigators, one of his followers was making threats towards Terrell during his live. They claimed they were “riding around with 60 shots”. Terrell played it off, but 10 minutes later, someone pulled up to his house. Terrell said “we got action” before the shooter let off 30 shots, killing him.

Even though all this went down on Facebook live, Terrell getting shot was not visible to the viewers. The live video was viewed over 37,000 times before Facebook removed it from the platform.

Three people have been arrested. Martita Bonner, 41,and Jermia Castion, 25, were arraigned on charges of conspiracy to commit homicide/open murder. They are being held at the Washtenaw County Jail on $1 million bond. A 24-year-old man from Ypsilanti was also arrested in Georgia. He is in the process of being brought back to Washtenaw County, and charges are pending, according to officials.
