Yo Gotti Reveals 50 Cent Advised Him To Change His CMG Label Meaning
Yo Gotti‘s label was called Cocaine Muzik Group but was later changed to Collective Music Group as they started tasting mainstream success.
Gotti reveals that he made the switch on 50 Cent’s advice.
“I was having a [phone] conversation with 50 Cent, and he was like, ‘Yo, you’re winning, but you can’t be Cocaine Muzik Group – that’s too harsh. They’re going to be scared of that,’ ” Gotti explained.

“Thought about it like, ‘Damn, he’s right. What else does CMG mean?’ He put it in my head to start thinking in that direction.”
That’s when he came up with the name Collective Music Group as it’s known now.
Earlier this week, Yo Gotti splashed $1.2 million on two custom Rolls Royce for his 41st birthday celebration. “$1.2 million in gift I fell in luv with twins,” Yo Gotti captioned video of him showing off his new exotic cars.
As a record executive, he is the founder of the record label Collective Music Group, which has signed successful acts such as Moneybagg Yo, 42 Dugg, Blac Youngsta, EST Gee And Mozzy.
