36-year-old Dustin Vandegrift of Georgia has been arrested after tracking his daughter’s location through her phone and then shooting at a “17-year-old boy he found her with,” reports the New York Post.

The father informed officials that he learned his daughter’s location was at the back of a church, so he went to make sure she was safe.

Once he discovered his 17-year-old daughter was with a male, he then confronted the two of them and attacked the boy; shortly after, he fired the gun.

The daughter admitted that when Vandegrift arrived, he “battered” the 17-year-old before shooting at him with the firearm. She added that he also attacked her. A search warrant was ordered on the father’s vehicle.

According to The Post, Vandegrift was “charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, simple battery involving family violence, two counts of first-degree cruelty to children, two counts of third-degree cruelty to children, and two counts of recklessly causing harm or endangering safety.”
