An Alabama employee was arrested after throwing hot grease on a customer at an Arby’s drive-thru. The Hueytown Police Department wrote on Facebook about an altercation between an employee and a customer at an Arby’s restaurant early Saturday afternoon.

According to their report, the employee threw hot grease on a customer in the drive-thru during an argument and the victim received medical treatment for their burns.

The employee was identified as 50-year-old Shea Denise Peoples and she was arrested at the scene. Officers charged Peoples with first-degree assault and her bond was set for $30,000 at the Jefferson County Jail. Details leading to the incident are currently unknown at this time.

“Upon arrival, officers determined that an employee threw hot grease on a customer in the drive-thru. Hueytown Fire and Rescue responded to provide medical treatment to the victim. The victim was transported to UAB hospital for further treatment of their burns and there were no other reported injuries.

The employee was taken into custody at the scene and the case remains under investigation.”

Arby’s released a statement in reference to the incident as reported by Newsweek and said the employee’s action do not reflect their brand as a whole. Peoples was immediately terminated for the attack.




“[We are] aware of the incident in Hueytown, Alabama, and the team member’s actions are not reflective of Arby’s brand values. The team member was terminated immediately, and we are cooperating fully with local authorities.”
