Georgia Man Charged With Killing His Mom And Stepdad
A 20-year-old Georgia man was taken into custody earlier this week for allegedly shooting his mother and stepfather at the family’s home.
The deadly attack that was carried out by Peyton Moyer went down while his two younger sisters, 16 and 4, were at their Watkinsville home before fleeing in one of the victim’s cars, Fox News reported.
Oconee County Sheriff James Hale told the outlet that responding deputies found the bodies of Moyer’s 41-year-old mom, Ashley Schultz, and his 54-year-old stepdad, Benjamin Smith.
Police eventually located the suspect and captured him following a short pursuit, the sheriff’s office shared. So far, investigators have not released information on a possible motive.
Meanwhile, per the report, Moyer has been hit with two murder charges and one count of cruelty to children.
