Bill Cosby Accuser Andrea Constand Speaks Out Following His Release

Bill Cosby’s sexual assault accuser Andrea Constand, has spoken out after his sexual assault conviction was overturned. Although it wasn’t due to his innocence but rather, an error on the prosector’s end.

The decision to free Cosby was made after it was revealed that the prosecutor that brought the charges against him violated a deal made by the previous D.A. in 2005 to not charge him.

Well, Andrea is upset and has released a statement on Cosby’s release, expressing her disappointment. Constand added that she feared that the decision “may discourage those who seek justice for sexual assault.”

“Today’s majority decision regarding Bill Cosby is not only disappointing but of concern in that it may discourage those who seek justice for sexual assault in the criminal justice system from reporting or participating in the prosecution of the assailant, or may force a victim to choose between filing either a criminal or civil action,” a statement from her attorney’s read.

Andrea worked at Temple University when she accused Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting her at his home in 2004.

Cosby however maintained his innocence all through the trials.

“I have never changed my stance nor my story. I have always maintained my innocence,” he wrote on Instagram. “Thank you to all my fans, supporters and friends who stood by me through this ordeal. Special thanks to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court for upholding the rule of law. #BillCosby”
