Trina Sparks Debate After Naming Cardi B As The Best New Female Rapper In The Last 5 Years

Female rapper Trina, began her career in hip hop as a stripper for 2 Live Crew. Last year, Twitter dug out an old video of Trina stripping after she condemned Atlanta protestors calling then “animals” during her radio show with Trick Daddy.

Well, she recently sat down for a virtual interview on Fox Soul’s Get Into It with Tami Roman where the rapper discussed her career and who she believes has been commanding the most attention.

The former Love and Hip Hop star was asked who she believed is the best woman in Rap within the last five years, and matter-of-factly, Trina answered, “Cardi B.”

Immediately the clip hit social media, it sparked debate among fans who have been sharing mixed reactions on Trina’s choice. Cardi’s supporters were thankful for the mention, while others cited Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, Tierra Whack, Young M.A, and City Girls.

It’s quite polarizing and for sure Cardi is arguably one of the best female rappers to come up in that time frame, however, saying she’s the best is debatable.

“Not Trina saying Cardi B the best female rapper recently.. chile atleast could have said Megan or Doja,” a Twitter user wrote.
