Meek Mill Responds To North Philly Ban

Meek Mill Responds To PoundSide Pop Banning Him From North Philadelphia

Meek Mill was seemingly ridiculed when North Philadelphia gangsters said he’s been banned from the city. It all started when Meek used his platform to try and promote positive change in the community.

In the wake of the recent killings in the Hip Hop scene, Meek tweeted that he would be signing Philadelphia-based rappers who stop beefing and start focusing on their music.

“I’ll get all the main big artist in philly a deal if they put them bodies behind them and squash them beefs …I hear about ….got some hot young bulls from my city but they all beefing,” Meek wrote in one of the now deleted tweets.

The tweet didn’t sit down well with a local rapper who goes by Poundside Pop. Pop then told Meek to “pick a side”, he went as far as showing receipts of lyrics where Meek raps about being from Berks Street, and later, where Meek raps about being from 18th, which he said in the comments of Pop’s IG post.

Later, Poundside Pop and his homies placed a “ban” on Meek Mill from entering North Philadelphia. “You not from North, bro. You’re banned,” an affiliate of Pop said on a livestream.

Realizing he’s been trending on Twitter over the ban, Meek made it clear that Pop has no power to ban him and acccording to him he runs his city.

“We run the hood the fuck is you saying lol,” he tweeted. Meek then proceeded to share one of his favorite songs from Philly right now — GG’s “G Lock (Pop Rocks).”
