Machine Gun Kelly Earns His First Ever Number One Album On The Billboard Charts With “Tickets To My Downfall”

Machine Gun Kelly changed his genre earlier this year, diving from rap into pop-punk category and it appears to be a great decision for him. MGK has now secured his first ever number one album on the Billboard chart with ‘Tickets To My Downfall’.

Kelly dropped ‘Tickets To My Downfall’ about a week ago which featured top production contributions from the legendary Travis Barker.

Acccording to Billboard, this feat marks the first time a rock album has topped the charts since Tool’s Fear Inoculum, a testament to the commercial foothold hip-hop music has on the game.

Raking in 126,000 album-equivalent units in sales, Tickets To My Downfall’s rise was bolstered by singles like the hit “Bloody Valentine” as well as the Blackbear-assisted “My Ex’s Best Friend” and the Halsey-assisted “Forget Me Too.”

He previously reached the Billboard 200’s top 10 with Hotel Diablo (No. 5, 2019), Bloom (No. 8, 2017), General Admission (No. 4, 2015) and Lace Up (No. 4, 2012).

However, there’s a high probability that 21 Savage and Metro Boomin’s Savage Mode II would bounce Kelly from that spot.

Nevertheless, Tickets To My Downfall remain a project to reckon with so far 2020. And it’s big congratulations to MGK.
