Teacher Placed On ‘Leave’ For Slamming Teen On A Desk

A Norfolk, Virginia High School teacher is on administrative leave after being involved in a brawl inside a classroom. The incident reportedly happened inside Lake Taylor High School.

The incident was captured on a five-second video, which quickly went viral on social media. The teacher appears to grab a female student by the arm and shirt, and flings the girl into a desk.

The school has refused to provide comments, so it’s not clear what led up to the altercation. The school’s principal, however, told the media that the teacher was attempting to break up a fight between students.

Norfolk Public Schools is currently investigating the incident, and has placed the teacher on paid administrative leave. There is no timeline for the investigation to be completed, according to the principal.

According to reports, Child Protective Services were contacted following the incident, but no criminal charges have been filed.
