Blue Ivy Becomes The Youngest Artist To Win A Major Award

The 51st annual NAACP Image Awards held on Saturday night and it got underway as the organization continued its tradition in honoring exceptional entertainers, artists, and creators of color over the past year.

This top honors during last night’s event went to the likes of Rihanna, whose philanthropic work earned her the lauded President’s Award, Lizzo, who took home the top-seeded Entertainer Of The Year award.




Beyonce’s 8 year old daughter Blue Ivy Carter, also earned her first award for Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration, sharing the win with her mother, Beyoncé, Saint JHN, and Wizkid.

Blue Ivy’s grandmother, Tina Knowles took to twitter to congratulate her lil grand child on her new feat. “Congratulations BLUE IVY on your NAACP award last night for singing and writing on “Brown Skin Girl” from the Album The Gift,” she wrote.

“The youngest artist to win a major award👏🏾👏🏾Grandma is soo proud of you❤️❤️❤️ 8 years old!!!!🙏🏾❤️ You are giving all the beautiful little brown girls a voice.”
