Gayle King was heavily criticized after bringing up Kobe Bryant’s rape case during an interview with Lisa Leslie where King asked the basketball star if Kobe’s 2003 rape trial taints his legacy.

Oprah Winfrey was dragged along for her recent documentary series which seems to be Black men targeted.

Dreamville’s artist Ari Lennox, joined the likes of 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg to bash Oprah and Gayle. Ari took to instagram live where she slammed both Gayle and Oprah, or as she calls them, “Kale and Okra.”

She called them “some self-hating, pieces of sh*t f*ckasses” and denounced them for “tearing down the legacies of so many phenomenal, beautiful black men,” possibly referring to Oprah’s documentary on Russell Simmons’ rape cases and Gayle’s famous interview with R. Kelly.

After facing backlash over her words, she wrote a lengthy apology to Gayle and Oprah. “I am sorry. I was acting like an ass,” she started off the post shared on her Tumblr page.

“I impulsively spiraled cause I was sick of seeing the distasteful shade especially at such a terrible and sad time towards someone I know is good person. I’m sorry for triggering people and I’m sorry if I caused any trauma. Im sorry for victim shaming, swear that wasn’t my intent.”

She added that she’s leaving social media as words gets easily reconstructed. “I’m excited to leave social media for good,” she wrote.

“I’m excited for true self love, healing, understanding and peace. To all the people who checked me from a place of love, I love you forever and I hear you and I deeply empathize more than you’ll ever know. I would love to keep the conversation going in real life.”
