According to the NBA, Tristan violated the League’s anti-drug policy by testing positive for ibutamoren and SARM LGD-4033.

Ibutamoren, also known as MK-677, is an anabolic that increases lean body mass. SARM LGD-4033 is also known as Ligandrol, increases muscle mass, reduces body fat, improves strength & endurance as well as reduces inflammation.

On February 19, 2022, Thompson signed with the Chicago Bulls. On April 9, 2023, Thompson signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. On September 12, 2023, Thompson signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers on a one-year contract.
