Chicago Community Furious As 500 Migrants Are En Route To Their Community

A Chicago community is furious as they did not sign up to volunteer for humanitarian efforts.

According to the Daily Mail, the former South Shore High School will act as a temporary dwelling for up to 500 migrants.

Officials have not clarified the duration of their stay though. Residents filed a lawsuit in response to the decision, stating the school hadn’t been zoned for residential use and residents were not made aware of such plans.

‘All of these resources that have not come to us now you want to overly compensate for people that have never lived here before,” said one resident.

“We need to be taken care of first and foremost before anything else happens!”. Another complained “Many of these migrants have been dumped without a plan in place to monitor and house them long term.”

One resident explained at the press conference “‘Why would any leader put our black communities, already riddled with crime, at further risk by placing unvetted non-taxpayers steps away from our seniors, our children and our homes that we have worked so hard to secure?’”

“The words “Build the wall. Make a border” could be heard throughout the conference as residents disapproved of the recent decisions. City Hall official Nubia Wilman replied to those questioning their efforts, saying “What’s important is that we really establish this is a humanitarian crisis, and we are here.”
