Lil Mosey Found Not Guilty Of Rape

“Lil Mosey” and fellow rapper “Band Kid Jay,” were both acquitted on second-degree rape charges filed against them in 2021.

A woman accused them of having sex with her at a party on Jan. 6, 2020, while she was intoxicated. Rapper “Cisco Go Crazy,” will face trial separately as witness statements required further follow-up investigation.

According to the alleged victim, she went to a party to see the rapper and got drunk. She says she got into a vehicle with him where he “pulled his pants down.” She says that she agreed to have sex but then that she blacked out. She later woke up to the rapper and his friend sexually assaulting her.

The rapper claimed he had consensual sex with the victim twice. Once at a New Year’s party, and then again in a car. He says that the second time happened on the same night of the alleged rape, which she alleges happened later in a cabin.

Mosey pled not guilty to the charge, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison and up to $50,000 in fines.

He rose to fame in late 2017 with the release of his single “Pull Up”. Mosey’s debut studio album Northsbest (2018) included his first Billboard Hot 100 charting single, “Noticed”. His second studio album, Certified Hitmaker (2019), peaked at number 12 on the US Billboard 200, and contains his 2019 hit single “Stuck in a Dream”.

In 2020, Mosey released the highest-charting single of his career, “Blueberry Faygo”, which peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100.
