Ice Spice Surpasses J. Cole With Monthly Listeners On Spotify

Buzzing female rapper Ice Spice, grew up in the Bronx, New York City, and began her career in 2021 after meeting record producer RiotUSA while attending State University of New York at Purchase. She rose to prominence in late 2022 with her song “Munch (Feelin’ U)”.

The release of her singles “Bikini Bottom” and “In Ha Mood”, preceded her debut extended play Like..? (2023).

In 2023, she achieved her first Billboard Hot 100 chart entry with the Lil Tjay collaboration “Gangsta Boo”, and her remix single “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2” with PinkPantheress reached the top three.

Well, Spice has now surpassed one of rap’s icon J. Cole with monthly listeners on Spotify. She has now amassed over 37 million monthly listeners while Cole has 36 million.

Ice Spice was hailed by Jon Caramanica of The New York Times as “rap’s new princess”, and was named a “breakout star” by Time magazine.

This however doesn’t change the fact that Cole is one of the best lyricist ever. Cole has won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Song, a Billboard Music Award for Top Rap Album, three Soul Train Music Awards, and 8 BET Hip Hop Awards.

All five of his albums have been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), as well as Revenge of the Dreamers III.
