Trump Officially Announces He’s Running For President In 2024

Donald Trump has announced his run for president in 2024.

“In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,” Trump told a Mar-a-Lago crowd.

“This will not be my campaign, this will be our campaign all together,” Trump said. Trump also took time to make fun of Biden for pulling troops from Afghanistan.

“Perhaps the most embarrassing moment in the history of our country,” Trump said. “We lost lives, left Americans behind and surrendered $85 billion of the finest military equipment anywhere in the world. He added, “Unlike Biden possibly getting us into World War III, which can seriously happen. I will keep America out of foolish and unnecessary foreign wars.”

Trump’s political positions have been described as populist, protectionist, isolationist, and nationalist. He won the 2016 United States presidential election as the Republican nominee against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton despite losing the popular vote.[a] He became the first U.S. president with no prior military or government service.

His election and policies sparked numerous protests. The 2017–2019 special counsel investigation led by Robert Mueller established that Russia interfered in the 2016 election to favor the election of Trump. Trump promoted conspiracy theories and made many false and misleading statements during his campaigns and presidency, to a degree unprecedented in American politics.

Many of his comments and actions have been characterized as racially charged or racist, and many as misogynistic.
