Meek Mill Reveals He Barely Made Any Money Off ‘Expensive Pain’ Album

Meek Mill says he’s happy to be independent because he hardly made any coins from his last album, Expensive Pain.

“1 year Anniversary to the last album idk how money I made off it or had no control over the overall plan and I only made 13% off it lol. I’m a make 10m + off every album I drop from here on out,” he wrote.

“I was caught up in that slave sh-t that’s why I been taking long …… that sh-t still on this album! everything I do flames! they don’t really promote music with morals in that system … now it’s my go now ima crack the code on getting paid for rapping! #Expensivepain.”

The Philadelphia rapper continued, “Don’t show me plaques show me checks how much each song make ? shout to roc nation And @ninachanel pressed p on this.”

The album didn’t do too badly in the billboard charts, selling 95,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.

Back in August, Meek Mill took to Twitter to address all the label owners and executives who’ve counted him out over the years, saying he’s willing to wager eight figures on his future success.

“If you a corporate person that work in the music business and ever predicted meek is over … I wanna place a 10m bet with you in contract,” Meek tweeted. “Label owners a&rs ceo’s coo’s artist … im just finding out y’all was talking like that … y’all said I was over at least 5 times.”
