Bruno Mars Bow Out Of Submitting Silk Sony Album For Grammy Awards Consideration

The door is closed very tight for Silk Sonic to get another Grammy under their belt after Bruno Mars withdrew them from all Grammy considerations today.

According to Rolling Stone, Bruno Mars decided to humbly bow out of the running for next year’s Grammys. It’s no secret that Bruno Mars is a Grammy darling, meaning he sweeps in every category he has been nominated in for the last few awards, racking up 15 Grammys in 10 years.

Just last year, he and Anderson Paak took home all 4 of the Grammys they were nominated for, on top of performing 2 years in a row as a duo. So now, he’s making sure other people get a chance to win.

“We truly put our all on this record, but Silk Sonic would like to gracefully, humbly and most importantly, sexually, bow out of submitting our album this year,” Mars said. “We hope we can celebrate with everyone on a great year of music and partake in the party. Thank you for letting Silk Sonic thrive.”

“Andy and I, and everyone that worked on this project, won the moment the world responded to ‘Leave The Door Open.’ Everything else was just icing on the cake,” he says.

“We thank the Grammys for allowing us to perform on their platform — not once but twice — and awarding us at last year’s ceremony. We’d be crazy to ask for anything more. Thank you to everyone that supported this project and championed it.”

Well, that was nice of you Bruno! That means the real war this year is the obvious showdown between Adele’s “30” album and Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” for Album Of The Year. That is still yet to be determined though, because the nominations aren’t being announced until November, so we will have to wait a few more weeks to see who will battle it out for the 2023 Grammys.
