Akon Says He Encouraged Tekashi 6ix9ine To Snitch
Akon has been steadily showing his support for Tekashi 6ix9ine, he even came out of retirement to make a remix to his classic hit ‘Locked Up’ with the rainbow haired rapper.
In a new interview currently making rounds online, Akon says he advised 6ix9ine to tell on his codefendants.
“I told him straight up man you’re family is always the most important thing in your life, I don’t give a f-ck what the streets tell you,” Akon said per HHDX.
“If whatever you gotta do to protect your family that’s what you do. It got nothing to do with being gangster, it’s about being a man and accepting the responsibilities that come with it, and if you gotta take one for your family then take one for your family, but if you can save your family, save your family.”
He continued: “‘Cause nobody does this for a street code, the street code today don’t exist. It ain’t like when I was coming up. There was real rules that real people follow and if you didn’t, there was repercussions.”
“Ain’t no repercussions today, so what the f-ck is a code? That code means sh-t. So save your family I don’t give a f-ck what you call it. ‘Cause man, listen, at the end of the day your integrity is how you define how you are as a man,” Akon added.
Back in 2020, Akon defended Tekashi putting a $20K hit on Chief Keef. “You gotta know Tekashi was doing a lot of that just for views,” Akon said at the time. Vlad added that someone got paid and a guy shot at Chief Keef, but still Akon wouldn’t be moved.
