Man Sentenced To Life In Prison For Killing Wife After She Searched: “What To Do If Your Husband Is Upset You Are Pregnant”

Beau Rothwell of Creve Coeur, Missouri has been convicted in the murder of the November 29th, 2019 killing of his wife, Jennifer Rothwell. She was six weeks pregnant.

The 31-year-old was found guilty of first-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and abandoning a corpse. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

On the day of her death, Jennifer Rothwell confronted her husband about an affair he was having with another woman. She had discovered his infidelity after they learned about her pregnancy. This sent him into a violent rage, where he began hitting her in the back of her head with a mallet. She eventually lost consciousness and fell down a flight of stairs.

After dumping her body about 45 miles away, Beau Rothwell reported Jennifer missing. Organized with her family and friends, he participated in search parties looking for her.

Police, later on, searched their house and found bottles of bleach, along with a wet and blood-stained carpet, that matched the victim’s DNA. After he was arrested, they were able to find and check her cellphone. Her search history showed she had looked up “what to do if your husband is upset you are pregnant.”

Referring to his attack against her as being “in the heat of the moment,” Rothwell apologized to Jennifer’s family during the sentencing hearing, telling them that he “thinks about her every single day.”

After Beau Rothwell sentence was announced, he declared that he plans to appeal the decision.
