Travis Scott To Headline Day N Vegas, First Festival Since Astroworld Tragedy

Travis Scott has been announced to headline the Day N Vegas festival in September, which will be his first major concert gig since the infamous Astroworld tragedy.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, with Travis set to join the likes of H.E.R, Summer Walker, J. Cole, and SZA for the star-studded show, further indicating that the rapper could potentially be staging his long-awaited comeback after having kept a low profile these past seven months.

On the evening of November 5, at the NRG Park in Houston, Texas, things at Astroworld got out of control when a stampede occurred in the crowd, subsequently killing 10 people while more than 4,900 people were left with injuries, per Billboard. Multiple concertgoers who were hurt or had lost a loved one at the festival went on to file lawsuits, with their attorneys holding Travis liable for damages.

A month after the incident, the SICKO MODE chart-topper sat down for an interview with Charlamagne Tha God, insisting that he “didn’t hear” the crowd who attempted to stop the show by yelling and jumping onto stage equipment to grab his attention.

When The Breakfast Club radio host asked whether there were things he could’ve done differently, Travis responded, “Everything I physically [could], sure, yes. And, if knowing what was going on … you just wish you could have done something better. But, standing there, 1,000 percent.”

“Anytime you can hear something like that you want to stop the show,” Travis continued.

“You want to make sure fans get the proper attention they need. I just go off the fans energy. But I just didn’t hear [screams]. I’m always here. I’m in this with you guys I love you and I always be there to help you guys heal through this.”
