NYC Man Arrested Days After Shoving Woman Into Subway Tracks

A Bronx man was arrested days after he was caught on camera shoving a woman onto subway train tracks.

The 52-year-old woman walking on the platform at the Jackson Ave Station over the weekend when Theodore Ellis, 31, pushed her onto the train track.

Miraculously, no train was approaching the station at the time of the incident and witnesses helped the woman off of the tracks. NYPD investigators said the victim sustained multiple cuts on her arms and head.

An MTA worker recognized Ellis returning back to the station on Tuesday shortly before noon and alerted police. He was arrested and charged with assault and reckless endangerment. The worker also told police that Ellis frequented the station and sold “illegal swipes.”

Ellis reportedly told police that the victim allegedly “pissed him off” after she said something to him and didn’t remember pushing her. Additionally, he claimed he “didn’t show his strength.”

According to the New York Post, the victim remained at the hospital until Tuesday.

He also has arrest records from 2006 which include aggravated assault, harassment, robbery, grand larceny, animal abuse, resisting arrest, and obstruction assault.
