Doctor Skeptical of Jada Pinkett Alopecia Claims: ’Looks Like Scars From Face Lift Surgery’

Yesterday Jada Pinkett Smith launched a new Red Table Talk show, where she discussed her struggles with alopecia. But does she really have alopecia, or is she exaggerating her condition? A popular YouTube doctor suggests that Jada may be exaggerating the amount of damage caused by her “alopecia.”

The doctor pointed out that what Jada describes as “alopecia” on the top of her head, may in fact be a “scar” that she got from a recent face lift operation.

So who is this Youtube doctor? His name is Dr. Gary Linkov and he is double board-certified by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery.

Dr. Linkov is a facial plastics and hair restoration expert. His practice, City Facial Plastics, is located in Manhattan, New York on Madison Avenue.  So yes, he is official. And he also suffers from alopecia. He’s completely bald.

In the video, the Dr agrees that Jada suffers from some hair loss, but he told fans that the majority of her hair follicles seem to work fine. Most people with alopecia have complete hair loss, Jada’s edges are a little thin, but she still has most of her hair folicles.

As the doctor puts it, “Jada shaved her head, that’s why she’s bald.”And as for the scar on her head, the high priced NY doctor dropped a bombshell. He claims that patch of baldness does not appear to be alopecia. In his opinion, it appears to be a scar that she got from having a “coronal brow lift.”

In a brow lift, the coronal incision is made from ear to ear across the top of the head and back in the hairline. The resulting scar is concealed within the hair. The forehead skin is lifted away from the underlying tissues and trimmed, and muscles are tightened and repositioned.
