Mother Of Three Killed By Her Husband In Murder-Suicide Weeks After Lifting Protection Order

An Alabama mother was killed by her husband in a murder-suicide just weeks after lifting an order of protection against him.

According to NY Post, Martella Tyler, 40, was found dead alongside her husband, Justin Tyler, 43, early Saturday at a home in Alabama.

Police were called to the home after receiving a domestic violence report. One of their daughters managed to escape the chaos and called for help. What’s interesting about this is that Justin was charged in February with first-degree domestic violence for attacking his wife with a pocketknife.

Three days later, Martella filed for and received a protection order against her husband.

“He punched me, stomped me, stabbed me three times in the head, left side and face,” she told police. “I feel like he has a mental health condition that is untreated.”

She ended up filing documents to dismiss the order of protection on May 12, while citing no reason.

A judge ended up granting her request as she and Justin both appeared in court. Weeks later, and now three girls are left without a mother.
