The Game Says 50 Cent & Label Exec Jimmy Iovine Paid Him $1M To Stop Saying ‘G-Unot’

The Game has held a long-standing beef with Jamaica Queens, New York rapper 50 Cent, something like a 18-year feud. At the beginning of their beef in 2005, Game started a campaign that single-handedly destroyed 50’s G-Unit brand. Game called it, “G-Unot.”

Fast forward to 2022—Game recently appeared on a podcast called ‘All The Smoke‘ hosted by former NBA ballers Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson.

During their discussion, the three men dive into the history of Game and 50’s beef, where he eventually claims that he received a seven-figure check from 50 and Interscope co-founder Jimmy Iovine to stop campaigning against 50’s G-Unit brand.

In a clip from the podcast, Game says, “Lotta people don’t know this.  and Jimmy Iovine gave me a million dollars to stop saying G-Unot. They wrote me a check, they bought it. I had to trademark the G-Unot. And you remember when I was going around with the rat and doing all that sh*t, that sh*t hurt – killed G-Unit!”

Game continued to recall, “You stopped seeing the candy cane tank tops and all that sh*t. All that, the whole G-Unit/Mark Ecko, the shoes, that sh*t died. That sh*t was a hot commodity at once; G-Unit clothing. N***as was wearing the sweats, headbands, the masks, everything. That sh*t died, bro. So they had to pay me.”

Game went on to explain that looking back on the deal, he should have countered their $1 million offer with a bigger number.

He said, “I should have asked for more but them n***as gave me a million. But I’m a hood n***a, a million dollars to stop saying this word?! Where the check? They wrote the check and I stopped saying it.”
