Georgia Pastor Allegedly Stabbed By Man She Reportedly Ministered To

Christopher Griggs, 27, is arrested for the alleged murder of Marita Harrell, 57, a senior pastor at Connections at Metropolitan United Methodist Church, to who the family says she ministered, according to WSB-TV 2.

Detectives suspect she was killed after Griggs stabbed her at his home.

According to WSB-TV 2, Family members of Harrell told Tom Jone of Channel 2, “Harrell just wanted to help Griggs find salvation and that she was always helping uplift residents in the community, even going as so far as to raise money for them and pay their bills.”

Harrell’s daughter told channel 2 that Griggs was in back and forth to jail, and the Pastor was guiding him through counseling in an effort “to get his life in order.”

According to warrants, Griggs fatally stabbed the woman with a kitchen knife and then set her in ablaze. He later took her corpse along with her van to an isolated area on Coffee Road, Officers said.

Reports note, “Griggs was arrested on May 19 and is currently being held in the Dekalb County Jail.”
