Grammy-winning country singer Naomi Judd passed away at the age of 76,  her daughters Wynonna and Ashley said.

The Judd sisters confirmed their mother’s death in a statement on Saturday which reads,“Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness.”

It continues to say, “We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.”

According to TMZ, Naomi Judd was very open about her mental health battles which include depression throughout the years. She and Wynonna also had an estranged relationship but they recently reconciled and plan to go on a cross-country tour, their first tour in a decade. Although disbanding in the early ’90s, the women went on to have successful solo careers and Naomi appeared on television for cameo appearances. She also starred in various films such as “An Evergreen Christmas”, “Someone Like You…”, “A Holiday Romance,” “The Family Tree”, and “Newlyweds.”
