Fashion Designer Thierry Mugler Passes Away At 73

Legendary French fashion designer Thierry Mugler has passed away at the age of 73.

The news was confirmed by Mugler’s team on his official Instagram page with the following message. It reads,“#RIP We are devastated to announce the passing of Mr. Manfred Thierry Mugler on Sunday, January 23rd, 2022. May his soul Rest In Peace.”

Currently, the cause of death is unknown as there were no recent reports of the designer having any illnesses or ailments as reported by TMZ.

Mugler is famously known for his designs that have been worn by celebrities such as Cardi B, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Megan Fox, Madonna, and countless others. His perfume line also sold some best-sellers such as Alien and Angel.

His career started in the 1970s and became internationally recognized by the 1980s and 1990s for his extravagant designs. Due to financial losses, Mugler retired from the industry in 2002 and said he wanted to explore other ventures.

“Fashion is beautiful, 3-D art on a human being. But it wasn’t enough, which is why I went on to create in other ways. For me, it wasn’t the right tool anymore. But perfume still interests me.”
