NJ Man Followed Home From Casino After Winning $10k, Murdered During Attempted Robbery
New Jersey Man Murdered By Robber Who Followed Him Home After Witnessing Him Win $10K At Casino
A New Jersey pharmaceutical executive was murdered after having a winning night at the Pennsylvania casino. Authorities are saying, the man accused of fatally shooting the man was spotted on video hanging around his victim.
The man that was seen on surveillance footage lurking around the victim has been identified as 27-year-old Jekai Reid-John. According to reports a second man was with Reid-John but he has not yet been identified.
Reid-John, of Norristown, Pa, was charged Tuesday in Montgomery County, Pa., with one-count of first degree murder in the fatal attack. Cops say he followed the victim, Sree Ranga Aravapalli about 30 miles to his home in Plainsboro, NJ, broke in and shot him several times.
According to EZ Pass records, a white BMW with temporary Delaware license plates were seen trailing Aravapalli as soon as he got on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
And the same car continued to followed the victim as he got off the turnpike around 3:20 a.m and then the 911 call came just 18 minutes after.
Police seem to believe this was a robbery gone wrong. Records show, Aravapalli was having a good night at the casino walking out with $10K worth of winnings while he didn’t notice the two suspects lurking around him the whole time.
“It’s crazy,” Sheeza Khan, Aravapalli’s neighbor, shared with Philadelphia’s CBS3. “I mean, unbelievable. Like how can somebody follow him all the way, and come here and kill him in the night? It’s so shocking.”
