18 Year Old Mom Who Was Shot By School Resource Officer Will Be Taken Off Of Life Support

The family of Long Beach teen Mona Rodriguez announced in a statement that they are taking her off of life support with the next three days. Rodriguez was placed on life support after she was shot by a school resource officer.

Rodriguez will remain on life support for the next three days as her family plans to meet organ donors that can be matched with her organs.

The mother of a five-month-old baby was shot by a school resource officer during an altercation with a 15-year-old girl outside of Millikan High School but she was not a student at the school.

After the fight, Rodriguez jumped into a vehicle and was shot by the resource officer as the vehicle tried to leave the scene.

Since Monday’s shooting, the school resource officer has been placed on administrative leave.

Her brother, Oscar Rodriguez, said in a statement to CBS Local Los Angeles that his sister deserves justice for the shooting and it has been difficult for the family to cope with her death.

“I just want justice for my sister. She didn’t deserve this. Nobody deserves this.”
