Trump supporters were not feeling the message former President Donald Trump tried to send after he suggested they should get vaccinated during a rally in Alabama.

During his speech, Donald Trump encouraged his supporters to get vaccinated and added that he was fine after receiving it.

“You’ve got to do what you have to do. But I recommend taking the vaccines. I did it. It’s good. Take the vaccines,” he explained.

However, the crowd started booing and Trump continued to tell his supporters that they have the right to oppose the vaccine.

“No, that’s OK. That’s all right. You got your freedoms. But I happened to take the vaccine. If it doesn’t work, you’ll be the first to know. OK? I’ll call up Alabama, I’ll say, hey, you know what? But [the vaccine] is working. But you do have your freedoms you have to keep. You have to maintain that.”

Currently, Alabama has the lowest percentage of people who are vaccinated but there are no reported new cases of COVID-19 as of this weekend.

“How much more information do we need to say that we can do this in Alabama?” Dr. Karen Landers, Assistant State Health Officer for the Alabama Department of Public Health, said weeks back.

“We have vaccine that is readily available, it’s free, it’s safe, it can be given at any time. What else can we do? We’ve done everything we need to do, and these trends are not looking good. We could be in a really bad spot within a couple of weeks.”
