Verphy Kudi, now 19, abandoned her 20-month-old daughter, Asiah, in Brighton while she went to London and Coventry to celebrate her birthday, go to a concert and attend a friend’s party.

The teen mom left her baby for almost 6 days for her festivities and her baby girl ended up starving to death. Now she will be spending the next 9 years behind bars for her senseless thinking.

According to The Guardian, she cried in court Friday when the judge handed down her sentence after pleading guilty to manslaughter. When Verphy returned home and called authorities and said her baby wasn’t waking up, paramedics found the mother “incoherent, distressed and distraught” and her baby girl lying on the floor.

She died from influenza and starvation after being left unattended for days. CCTV covering her home showed that she had left that baby alone in her apartment for five days, 21 hours and 58 minutes.

The judge in the case didn’t hold back on her a** either after her attorney tried to stress that she’s young. “Asiah was alone in that flat for six days – less two hours – unable to do anything to draw attention to her plight.”

“She was a helpless child and relied completely on you as her mother to provide for her needs.”

“It is almost unbearable to contemplate her suffering in the final days of her life, suffering that she endured so that you could celebrate your birthday and the birthdays of your friends as a carefree teenager.”

“It goes without saying that this is a particularly tragic case and it no doubt raises strong emotions in all who hear of it, but everyone should bear in mind that the charge I sentence you for is one of manslaughter, it being accepted that you did not intend to cause Asiah death nor to cause her really serious harm.”
