Chris Brown Hit With $1.5 Million Lawsuit For His 2017 Hit Song ‘Privacy’

Chris Brown Sued For Allegedly Sampling Dancehall Song ‘Tight Up Skirt’ Without Permission

Chris Brown has been hit with another lawsuit. Just last week, Chris was hit with a suit from a young women alleging he slapped her weave off and just a few days later, Chris’ housekeeper filed a suit alleging she was mauled by his dog.

Again, court documents obtained reveal the singer and rapper is now being sued for his 2017 hit, ‘Privacy’.

According to legal documents obtained by Music Business Worldwide, Greensleeves Publishing Ltd is suing Chris Brown and Sony Music Entertainment for sampling Red Rat’s 1997 dancehall song ‘Tight Up Skirt’ without permission.

The publishing company claims Chris “took the core musical feature” of the song and “used it prominently” in ‘Privacy’ without permission.

Last week, Chris Brown sparked reconciliation rumor with his ex girlfriend Karrueche Tran after the two were spotted chilling together at the PrettyLittleThing Madhouse party that pop star Teyana Taylor held at WISDOME Los Angeles.

Karrueche Tran and Chris Brown dated in 2015 but split up after a few months. She was later granted a temporary restraining order against the singer, saying he’s also repeatedly threatened her in texts since December.
