Philly Rapper Ar-AB Sentenced to 45 Years In Jail For Running A Drug Operation

Philadelphia rapper Ar-AB has been sentenced to 45 years in jail following claims of him running a drug-trafficking organization that implicated one murder.

According to the U.S. District Judge Michael Baylson, Ar-AB came to the hearing with an attitude and showing little remorse as he had his arms folded while everyone was speaking.

Baylson stated “ You could have been a hero instead of a criminal, But you became a drug dealer. You made that decision and that is why you’re being punished.”

Prosecutors mentioned that his music and lyrics are also drug related. They amount to the same thing as someone confessing to their crimes, but according to Baylson, he did not charge him with that crime, and stressed that it wasn’t a consideration in this sentence.

Ar-AB replied saying:  “The court, the FBI agents, and the prosecutors don’t understand my culture. We don’t rap about flowers and rainbows.”

He continued, “We gangsta rappers. We rap about where we grew up & we rap about drug dealing. We rap about violence.”
