Hip Hop fans were excited at the report that Jay Z would be releasing new music, featuring on a new Pharrell single titled ‘Entrepreneur’ which is scheduled to drop tonight. The last time we heard verses from HOV was on his collaborative album with Jay Electronica.

However, the timing of the release has got fans speculating Jay still has not forgotten his infamous beef with Nas. Considering the fact that Nas is also dropping his highly anticipated album ‘King’s Disease‘ tonight.

Nas and Jay Z are both one of the greatest lyricists. The two were both coming up in NYC circa 1996 when things started to get rocky, after Nas reportedly skipped on a planned studio session with Hov, for a record that would end up on ‘The Blueprint’.

While Nas didn’t turn up, Hov and Ski Beatz concocted the next best thing: a sample of Nas’ line on the “World is Yours” to create “Dead Presidents II.”

Both rappers then started shading each other subliminally before drawing the battle line with diss tracks “Takeover” and “Ether.” It’s generally agreed that “Ether” ended the beef, with Nas coming out on top.

Although the two haven’t been exchanging shots in recent times, the timing of HOV’s release is making fans think there is still an underlying beef.
