CeeLo Green Apologizes To Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion After Backlash
CeeLo Green Issues Apology To Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion
Earlier this week, legendary Dungeon Family veteran and respected melodist CeeLo Green, was criticized on Twitter after he called out several prominent female rappers for using adult content in their music.
During an interview with Far Out, Cee-Lo called out the three biggest female rappers in Hip-Hop. He slammed Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B over sultry ‘Wap’ video and claimed Nicki Minaj has no positive influence in the industry.
“A lot of music today is very unfortunate and disappointing on a personal and moral level,” he said before trashing the female rappers with demeaning words. However, folks online were quick to remind him of his rape case.
Following the backlash, CeeLo Green has finally penned an apology to Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion. “Firstly, I am an advocate of artistic freedom and expression as well as a fan of Nicki, Cardi, and Meagan,” he writes.
“I know most of them personally and consider Cardi and Offset family. Therefore, I would never disrespect them by any means. I acknowledge them as all powerful, beautiful, and influential women…and professionals.”
Green continues, “I wholeheartedly apologize to each of them for the inconvenience they have been caused due to a snippet of my interview being used as a headline, and in turn creating controversy and disconnect between me and these ladies as well as their fans.”
