The Weeknd Claims Usher Stole His Sound On Climax

The Weeknd who is fresh off releasing his album “After Hours” and accompanying it with couple of songs, has come out to publicly  accuse fellow R&B singer Usher of stealing his style on “Climax”.

“‘House of Balloons’ literally changed the sound of pop music before my eyes,” the singer told Variety of his debut 2011 mixtape. “I heard ‘Climax,’ that Usher song, and was like, ‘Holy f*ck, that’s a Weeknd song.'”

He continued, “It was very flattering, and I knew I was doing something right, but I also got angry. But the older I got, I realized it’s a good thing.” Variety said they asked Usher’s team for a response, but they did not reply.

The Weeknd also shared that he almost pursued a career in film instead of music.

“I didn’t know that I had a gift with music, but I was always singing. I was actually getting in trouble because I would sing in class — my poor mother, it became a real problem,” he told the publication. “I was really shy so I wasn’t really singing to my friends or girls, but when I was maybe 13, somebody said, ‘You actually have a pretty nice voice.'”
