Philadelphia born rapper Chynna Rogers has been pronounced dead at 25. Her family confirmed her death through her manager. The A$ap Mob member died on Wednesday.

“I can regrettably confirm Chynna passed away,” Rogers’ manager John Miller said via email per The Wrap. “Chynna was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.”

Chynna began her career as a model, signing to Ford Models at the age of 14. She later went on to work with the late record producer A$AP Yams, born Steven Rodriguez.

It was when she became involved with the A$AP Mob, that Chynna’s career as a rapper began to take off.

Although her manager did not go into detail about the cause of Chynna’s death, she was extremely open about her addiction to opioids in the past.

She talked to Pitchfork about her struggles with addiction some years back after her mother had passed away.

“My mom would be really tight with me if I used her as an excuse to fall off,” she said at the time. “It’s just more reason to work and get all this sh*t done.”

It appears that music helped to keep the rising star sober. “If you’re not depressed right now, you might be getting high,” added. “Everyday I wake up with new sh*t to be mad about. It’s too much.”

Rest in peace Chynna!
