Another NBA Player Donovan Mitchell Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Earlier today, we reported that Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19 becoming the first Black person in the United States to be confirmed to carry the coronavirus.

It appears another Utah Jazz player Donovan Mitchell, has tested positive for coronavirus, after Rudy Gobert had been “careless in the locker room touching other players and their belongings.”

Gobert had jokingly touched every microphone on the podium after Mondays’ shoot around, and apparently he continued his nonsense in the locker room.

According to reports, multiple Jazz players privately said that “Gobert had been careless in the locker room touching other players and their belongings.”

Shams Charania added that Mitchell was the only Jazz player/personnel to test positive out of the 58 tests administered on Wednesday night.

Sources: Donovan Mitchell was the only Jazz player/personnel to test positive for coronavirus out of 58 tests administered on Wednesday night. Remaining tests came back negative.

The Jazz were scheduled to play the Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena, but the game came to a halt just before tipoff after it was discovered that Gobert tested positive.

The NBA is suspending game play following the conclusion of tonight’s schedule of games until further notice,” the league said in a statement. “The NBA will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.”
