Russell Simmons Daughter Fires Shot At Oprah Winfrey

Russell Simmons’ 17 year old daughter Aoki Simmons is big mad at Oprah Winfrey following her father’s documentary departure.

Last fall, Oprah decided to executive produce a documentary interviewing women accusing entertainment mogul Russell Simmons of sexual assault.

Oprah pulled out of the documentary after she found what she calls “inconsistencies” with at least one of the alleged victim’s story. When talking about her move to leave the project, Oprah made it clear that this was by no means a victory for the Def Jam founder.

“This is not a victory for Russell and I unequivocally say that I did not because of Russell,” Oprah said. “This is not a victory lap for him. I cannot be silenced by a Russell Simmons after all I’ve been through,” she added.

Oprah went on CBS This Morning defending the women and reiterated that she “believes” their stories, even with the “inconsistencies.”

Russell Simmons has vehemently denied all allegations, but Oprah told Gayle during the interview that it’s important to vocalize her support of the women who have spoken out.

“I believe the women’s voices deserve to be heard, and as an executive producer I was also in a position where I think things were not right. I wanted the context of the story to be broadened, I wanted more women to be brought in.”

Russell Simmons’ daughter Aoki Lee Simmons uploaded an image to her Instagram story that shows her sister Ming seemingly having a heated and passionate conversation. “You don’t even know how mad Oprah makes me,” she captioned the photo.
