Rapper DMX Returns To Rehab

Rapper DMX real name Earl Simmons has long battled substance abuse and has been very honest about it. The rapper nor his team made it public exactly what he was battling.

The Yonkers-born artists started smoking crack cocaine at 14 years old, when he was given a marijuana cigarette laced with crack. He also reportedly suffers from bipolar disorder.

“In his ongoing commitment to putting family and sobriety first, DMX has checked himself into a rehab facility,” penned his team in an Instagram caption. “He apologizes for his cancelled shows and thanks his fans for their continued support.”

When he was released from jail in January, he was spotted with very much weight gain after revealing that he’s abstaining from drugs.

DMX later went on a 20th anniversary tour for his It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot album and even ink a new deal with his former Def Jam label.
