Lil Kim Talks On Jermaine Dupri’s Controversial Sexist Comments

Back in July this year, Jermaine Dupri made controversial headlines over his comments on female rappers. He compared female rappers to strippers rapping and iconic rapper Lil Kim has aired her opinion on it.

Jermaine Dupri came about ‘Strap’ genre of music from the combination of Strippers and rappers.

Although, he received lots of backlash over it, he didn’t waver as he stood his ground several times over the comments.

“I think just like we have trap [music], they should call it strap. It’s the stories of their life.”

“So, people ask me, ‘Do I regret what I said?’ No,” he stated.

Legendary rapper Lil Kim also gave her thoughts concerning Jermaine’s controversial comments while on her 5th album ‘9’ promotions.

Kim and Rob Markman talked about lots of things such as the legendary rapper’s decade-long career and upcoming collaborations with the City Girls.

The most interesting part is that Lil Kim shared her thoughts on Jermaine Dupri’s controversial comments concerning the status of female rap and Hip Hop.

“I think today’s music in fun.. Sometimes, you don’t want to have to think too hard. You want to just vibe. And so, I like what’s going on. I don’t think that Jermaine Dupri meant no harm,” Lil Kim said.

“I think he was basically saying I love y’all sexy women talking that sexy stripper talk, but I wanna also hear women spitting hardcore rap. I think he just said it wrong maybe,” she added.
