Cardi B Insists She’s Not White, But From Black Heritage

Cardi B has been attacked multiple times for using the N word and she’s also defended her heritage, claiming she’s a Black woman several times. People consider Cardi B to be a Latina since she is the daughter of a Dominican father and Trinidadian and Spanish mother.

Cardi’s upset that some people feel that she’s not Black, but she asserts that her features don’t come from white people.

She’d earlier revealed that are parents may be light-skinned but grandparents aren’t. “It’s like, ‘Oh, Cardi’s Latin, she’s not black.’ And it’s like, ‘Bro, my features don’t come from f*cking white people f*cking, okay?’ And they always wanna race-bait when it comes to me. That’s why I have Afro features. ‘Oh, but your parents are light-skinned, your parents are this.’ All right, but my grandparents aren’t,” she claimed.

Last month, New York Rapper Fat Joe who is also a descendant of Cuban and Puerto Rican appeared on Hot 97 where he discussed the controversial topic with Ebro Darden.

“Latinos are black. In Cuba, at one time, there was eight million Cubans. Five million, unfortunately, were slaves. Three million were actual Cubans, and the integrated and had babies. Same thing with Puerto Rico when you go to Loíza,” Fat Joe explained.

“You talk about Santeria, that came from the motherland Africa. Sometimes, Latinos may even identify themselves with African and black culture more than black people. This ain’t no crazy thing. Fat Joe ain’t on crack. He know what he talkin’ ’bout,” he added.

Twitter initially went after Latina actress Gina Rodriguez for uttering the “N Word” when singing a Fugees song on Twitter. Then activists on Black Twitter turned their attention to Cardi another Latina who routinely uses the “N Word” while rapping.

When fans started questioning whether Cardi should be able to use the “N Word,” Cardi fired back claiming that she’s ‘Black’.

“My nose, my lips, my hair,  my color my features don’t come from two white people f*cking,” she clapped back.

Here’s a quick reality check, while it’s true that Cardi’s ethnicity isn’t 100% “White”, it’s not quite “Black either.” But based on Fat Joe’s assertions, she can be considered as ‘Black’.
