Indian Girl Beaten & Paraded Through The Village

There has been several reports on the maltreatment of females in India and this last one has people frowning at them. India has been named as the most dangerous country in the world for women, in part because episodes like the below are far too prevalent.

A new video has emerged showing a young Indian girl getting the beating of her life while being paraded round the village.

The purported 15 years old was paraded through a village, beaten and stripped for deciding to “date” a man from a higher “caste” or class, than she is.

A recent study found that over 50% of Indian men and women still believe that sometimes women deserve a beating. The same study found that one woman is killed every hour for not bringing enough dowry to a husband.

Yet, dependency is still presented as a reputable and preferred habit and independence is seen to be negative.

As reported by The Guardian “this everyday violence is the product of a culture that bestows all power on men, and that does not even want women to exist.”

Indian society teaches women to be afraid of their bodies, denies them of speech, and denies them the right to assemble.
