Missy Elliot Loses Her Diamond Chain At The VMAs – Offers Reward

Missy Elliot Offers Reward For Her Lost Chain At The VMAs

After so many years of waiting, Missy Elliot was finally honored with the VMA Video Vanguard Award for her “culture-shifting visionary” visuals at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.
Missy Elliott’s Video Music Award appearance was a special one for the legendary musician since she went home with this year’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

“I want to dedicate this award to the dance community all around the world. Because when y’all get on the stage with these artists, y’all are not just props. Y’all are not just the icing on the cake, y’all are the beat to the heart,” she said in her acceptance speech.
“I have worked diligently for over two decades and I never thought I’d be standing up here receiving this award, so it means to much to me.”
Missy Elliot took the VMA stage in style for the occasion after a jaw dropping performance featuring some of her greatest hits.
Missy’s tour-de-force set featured frenetic choreography, impeccable rapping, and show-stopping production. From classic bangers such as “The Rain” complete with imagery of the iconic shiny trash bag outfit to the dance-inducing “Get Ur Freak On” to “Work It,” the entire medley had the crowd on their feet.
During the performance of “Work It”, Missy brought dancer Alyson Stoner on-stage. Stoner was in the single’s original music video back in 2003, then aged just ten years old.

As expected from Missy, the stage and costume design was suitably high-tech and futuristic, not least a sci-fi scarecrow look.

But unfortunately she went home without something she entered the award show with. Missy Elliot lost her gorgeous diamond gold chain at the 2019 VMAs. The “Throw It Back” rapper shared an image to her social media asking her followers to help her find her accessory.

“Anyone found this necklace at the VMAs backstage or know anything about it there’s a reward it’s the shorter one… thanks,” she wrote. Fingers crossed that it makes its way home in one piece.
