Karen Civil’s Writer Sues Her Employer For Firing Her Over Tweet

Nicki Minaj had a long break from social media and the music scene earlier this year. Fans started speculating she’s pregnant or maybe sick. Nicki Minaj had a hot beef with Cardi B and later moved on to pulling out of BET for disrespecting her.

BET in their congratulatory message to Cardi B shaded Nicki Minaj and it made her pulled out of the event she’s supposed to headline alongside Cardi. She also recently mocked BET for having low rating record at this year’s event.

Nicki Minaj dropped her much anticipated ‘Queen’ album sometimes last year and a blogger took to her personal account to share her opinion on Nicki Minaj’s then album.

Tuwanna Thompson worked for Karen Civil’s website as an intern and now, she’s suing Civil, her website, and the CEO, Christian Emiliano after she was fired over a tweet about Nicki Minaj.

“You know how dope it would be if Nicki put out mature content?” She wrote. “Just reflecting on past relationships, being a boss, hardships, etc. She’s touching 40 soon, a new direction is needed.”

Tuwanna Thompson’s tweet went viral and she claimed she didn’t only received threats from Nicki Minaj but also got fired even after she was asked to delete the tweet which she immediately did.

She’s presently seeking $1.5M reward for damages in defamation.

Thompson says she was informed Nicki Minaj is a client of Civil and also influenced the organization in firing her. She also claims Emiliano went on a rant on Twitter about her which has impacted her ability to land work.
