Meek Mill Officially Off Probation

Rapper Meek Mill has officially won his battle to receive a new trial relating to a 2008 conviction on gun and drug charges. Meek Mill earlier revealed that his parole restricts him from picking his son from school.
The entire conviction has been overturned and Meek will get a new trial, thanks to overwhelming evidence of police corruption.

According to Allhiphop.. Meek’s parole violation was also overturned, and now for the first time in over a decade, the Philly rapper is a free man.
Before today’s great news, Meek had been on probation for over 10 years for the crimes, which he maintains he never committed.
The rapper began a two and a half year battle with Judge Genece Brinkley, who was overseeing his probation for several years.

Judge Brinkley sent Meek back to prison in November of 2017 for a series of minor infractions, which landed him a two-year prison sentence.
The decision set off a wave of protests around the country and sparked a nationwide discussion about the fairness of the justice system in the United States.
Meek’s lawyers also claimed Judge Brinkley had it in for him after he refused to drop Roc Nation and record a tribute record in her honor.
Meek was eventually released from a prison in Chester, PA in April of 2019, after his lawyers argued the judge had a vendetta against the rap star.

Prosecutors may still try Meek but it would be a long shot, since they have already indicated the rapper’s arresting officer, Reginald Graham, has too many credibility issues after being accused of corruption.
