Twitter Users Agree With Nicki Minaj’s 12 Years Solid Reign

Nicki Minaj took to instagram earlier and shared her thoughts revealing her feelings and emotions towards the kind of reactions she’s getting in the Hip Hop game and what she feels she deserves.

No doubt she has earned herself a notable spot on the rap scene being the first female rapper to last this long, twelve years and still kicking. That ain’t no child’s play.

Nicki Minaj credits herself for having a 12 years reign of no ghost writer although she’s had some beef with other artists in the Industry. When it seems her works are about to be forgotten as other female rappers are now in the game.

“12 years ago I dropped my 1st mixtape,” she begins, sharing an image of Playtime Is Over. “Wrote every single word on every single song. I was so proud of that.” Perhaps it’s simply her native New York energy, but it’s clear that hip-hop purism is an important tenet of her artistry.

Likewise is paying respect to the legends who came before, something she feels the younger generation are unwilling to do. “I always shouted out my influences in my interviews. Now a days, it’s become cool to pretend u weren’t influenced by other artists,” she writes.

“S/O to the ones big enough to do it: Kash, Asian, Cuban, Saweetie, Meg, Malibu, etc.”
